Enjoy this incredible photo of Denver’s Harvey Park neighborhood, under construction, sent to me by Kathy, one of the attendees of my Harvey Park History Morning last weekend.
Two Hutchinson Homes “Century” models are under construction with the Loretto Heights College administration building (designed by Frank Edbrooke, designer of the Brown Palace Hotel) perfectly framed up in the background. Built in 1891, the administration building was already nearly 65 years old as these homes were being built . . . once a relatively isolated campus, Denver found its way into Loretto Heights’ backyard after World War II. And after 65 more years, the campus ultimately closed, and is now itself seeing dramatic change, becoming a new neighborhood as Harvey Park looks on.
