The mid-20th century (1950s and '60s in particular) was an interesting time in home building for a lot of reasons - most notably because architects and home builders were realizing that they were creating more than shelter; they had the power to improve the quality of life of those who live there. It's this focus on good design and an improved quality of life that has led me to specialize in the sale of mid-century modern homes in the Denver area as an Associate Broker at Realty ONE Group Premier.

I earned my Bachelor of Interior Architecture from Kansas State University in 2001, and practiced as a designer for several years, during which my wife and I bought a mid-century modern home for ourselves in Denver's Harvey Park neighborhood. We love the ways that it connects indoors to outdoors, is awash in natural light, has an open floor plan, and that it features a private outdoor living room with a water feature - and yet we didn't really know what we had until I started researching it in 2010 and discovered that we own an authentic Cliff May Home, one of 170 such pre-fabricated homes built in Harvey Park around 1955.

Since that discovery, my research has expanded, resulting in the creation of a map and database of nearly all 7,000+ mid-century modern homes in the Denver metro area - as well as talks and articles about other local mid-century modern neighborhoods, co-founding Denver Modernism Week, and building a reputation for being a knowledge resource about mid-century modern homes.
